Episode 01
And then there were 12.
AI Brekkie started the way most good ideas do — over breakfast.
A small, invite-only gathering of people genuinely curious about where AI is going. No slides. No structure. Just coffee and conversation. The thoughtfully curated group of 12, ages 26 to 80, covered creative, strategy, HR, academe, business, tech, and social impact — including two unrelated Pat Parungaos, two professors, two statisticians, a rotarian, and a priest.
The conversations split across the table and went everywhere — AI for education, agriculture, statistics, inclusion and upskilling. AI tools for learning Japanese and piano. Frameworks for how education needs to change and how HR has to evolve. The very real impact on jobs. And one common thread running through all of it: what can we do to maximise this amazing opportunity as a force for good in the world?
A few concrete plans came out of it: AI Brekkie: Backstage Pass sessions where people walk through their AI setups, an AI Brekkie: On Location visit to Father Beltran's Sandiwaan Center in Tondo, and several collaborations that are still taking shape.
Not bad for Episode 1. Hope you're ready for the next episode!

AI Brekkie is inspired by gatherings that came before it — Bernie Mitchell's Late Late Breakfast Show in the UK, where a community formed over beers around the early social media boom, all of us scrambling around, excited at the possibilities and trying to figure it out together. And Jason Ong's Startup Brekkie in Singapore, which did the same for Southeast Asia's emerging tech startup scene — founders navigating product-market fit, MVPs and investments over morning coffee. Different eras, same energy.
